Jesus said the greatest commandment is, "Love God with all your heart, soul & mind and your neighbor as yourself."

Community Gospel Music Concerts

One of the feature ministries of Grace Christian Church to the LeRoy community is presenting a series of Christian music concerts each year, mostly gospel quartets (tenor, tenor, baritone, bass).   For all of our concerts we receive a free-will "love" offering but there is NO admission charge. Refreshments are served following each event to provide a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get to know the performers better and share their Christian experiences. It is also a great time for fellowship with neighbors and friends who attend different congregations.

Plans for 2010 are in process.

We are in touch with several groups we hope to schedule for 2010.  At least one of the favorites from last year is on the probable list for 2010, plus some new ones, too.   At each concert you will hear uplifting and enjoyable music while sharing Christian fellowship.  YOU are cordially invited and tell your friends, too!

Foundation QuartetFoundation Quartet

On a Sunday evening in October Bob Fallt, tenor, John Backstorm, lead, Dester Kile, baritone, and Dale Tornell, bass sang a number of songs in the southern gospel style along with other types of music all proclaimed their love of Jesus Christ. These gentlemen are from the Twin Cities area and are quite busy presenting concerts, a couple of them in neighboring counties.  All retirees, this activity keeps them young,  happy and very involved in ministry for our Lord.

Glory Road Gospel Quartet Glory Road Gospel Quartet

These men from Council Bluffs IA area sang on Saturday evening in July as part of LeRoy's 'Summer Fest' annual celebration. They presented a full slate of songs, many of them from the well-known 'Southern Gospel' tradition as well as a nice selection of songs in other styles. All of the music was focused on the Biblical truth that proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord of all.

Gateway Singers, May 16 at Grace Christian Church LeRoy Gateway Singers

The Hunts & McSpaddens gave a fine soprano, alto, tenor, bass rendering of many hymns and songs that Christians have sung for years and  encouraged the audience to sing along, too. These four (the women are sisters) have been performing concerts for 40 years all over the US and beyond.

Bill Miller, PianistBill Miller Piano Concert

The first event of 2009 was in March with Bill Miller, a marvelous pianist.  He mixed and matched from memory over 50 well-known hymns interspersed with comments on some of the history of Christian music. He also marvelously performed several very technical arrangements.  Bill resides in Norfolk NE. Although he is now retired from over 40 years as professor of Bible and Music at Nebraska Christian College he continues to be in demand to give  concerts all over the country.
