Grace Christian Church is quite new to LeRoy but the building has been a local landmark for many years. The new congregation began holding services in 2006 after the former Baptist congre-gation graciously sold the building and nearly all of its furnishings and equipment to the new folks. This has greatly assisted Grace Christian get started and a hearty thanks goes to the fine Baptist Christians who made this gift.

Dick Burlingame is the minister.  After a career in the insurance business he has "retired" to LeRoy to lead this congregation.  The Leroy Independent and Austin Herald have both run feature stories about the new congregation, providing lots of details about how this came about and the people involved.

Please look at the sidebar articles describing what sort of church this is. As you can clearly see from these positional statements, we intend to do whatever the Bible tells us is necessary to live our lives and not to require anything else.  There is a lot of freedom in that and a lot of personal responsibility.  But that is precisely what most Christians believe in their hearts anyway, regardless of affiliations they now have or previously had.

Everyone who wants to worship God is welcome at Grace Christian. Stay a bit longer and join in the Coffee Fellowship following every Sunday service. And there is a potluck dinner following morning services every 3rd Sunday of January, March, May, July, September and November.

Similar churches in SE MN are in: Austin, Albert Lea, Rochester, Stewartville, Marion, Kasson, Concord, Plainview. There is a fellowship between these churches, but there is no central authority or control.  This church is also affiliated with Crossroads College in Rochester.

What We Stand For

James A. Garfield, the first US president from this type of church, answers a common question... one that is still being asked.

What Kind of Church Is This?

Our goal is to be a  community of servant-believers that Christ intended his followers to be.  This essay says it elegantly.
